Alexander Steen (born March 1, 1984, in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. Steen wears number 10 on the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is the son of former Winnipeg Jets star Thomas Steen, a forward who scored 817 points in 910 NHL games between 1981 and 1995. Alexander played junior hockey for Goteburg and Frölunda in Sweden from 1999-2004. He spent the 2004/05 season with MoDo Hockey of the Swedish Elite League where he recorded 9 goals and 8 assists for 17 points in 50 games. Steen scored his first career NHL goal on October 9, 2005 against the Montreal Canadiens.When Steen scored that goal he also made history because he and his father, Thomas, became the first swedish father and son that had scored a goal in the NHL.
